Brad Webb is a professional drummer who is currently playing with Jamie Cullum amongst others. You can see him playing live on tour with Jamie in the UK and Europe throughout 2013 (http://www.jamiecullum.com/tour) as well as recording and writing with other projects.
Brad was born and raised in Kent, England and started playing drums aged 3 years old. At aged 9 he began lessons and several years later became a pupil of Bob Armstrong, the UK’s top drum teacher, with whom he studied for 7 years.
In his early teens, he formed his own band, holding residencies at some of London’s most prestigious venues, as well as playing for established names such as Hamish Stuart, Carleen Anderson, Jamie Cullum and Amy Winehouse. In 2003, Brad toured with John Jorgenson (Elton John/Bob Dylan) before playing with Ben Taylor supporting Sheryl Crow on her European tour. The next year he toured the UK, Holland and Canada with Amy Winehouse to promote her double platinum-selling debut album ‘Frank’.
Following these tours, Brad joined the American performance art / music spectacle Blue Man Group in which he played for two and a half years in London’s West End. He also played for the company abroad in the Amsterdam and Berlin shows and, in 2007, performed and trained musicians for the opening of Blue Man Group in Tokyo, Japan. 2006/7 also saw Brad recording and touring with The Webb Sisters for their album ‘Daylight Crossing’ (Universal), including support slots with Jason Mraz and James Morrison, and a performance at America’s 400th Anniversary celebrations in Virginia, USA.
Brad joined Jamie Cullum's band in January 2009, and spent the following two years touring the world promoting his album, ‘The Pursuit’. The tour included performances in Europe, the US, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Mexico and Brazil, and culminated in a televised BBC Prom with The Heritage Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall (see 'Media' page for video extract). As well as touring with Jamie in 2010, Brad played in musical comedy sensation Tim Minchin’s band in his arena show, ‘Tim Minchin And His Orchestra’, a DVD of which was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall.
2011/12 saw Brad continue to tour with Tim Minchin whilst recording with Jamie Cullum for his new album 'Momentum'. The album was recorded throughout 2012 with producers Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele, Bombay Bicycle Club), Dan the Automator (Gorillaz), Ben Lamdin (Nostalgia 77), Paul Butler (The Bees, Michael Kiwanuka) and Duncan Mills, and features Brad on drums, percussion and backing vocals. It will be released on 20th May 2013 (UK).
